The COVID-19 epidemic is challenging everyone by separating us from loved ones, affecting our work life, and adding stress. Parents have been particularly impacted with added challenges. For those of you looking for tips and guidance on how to best provide for your children and yourself during these difficult times, the Markesan Public Library is offering an online event: Parenting during COVID-19 w/Steve Shekels on Thursday May 7 at 6pm. Don’t miss this opportunity to join professional parent educator Steve Shekels for a town hall style talk using Zoom and Facebook. Shekels has worked for the last 9 years with the state and county providing parenting services. He has been a foster parent for 30 years and is a Dad and Stepdad. Among the tools for parents that he will discuss include the three “Rs” – Reassurance, Routine, and Regulation. He will also talk about how parents can self-care. But most importantly, Shekels will open up the meeting for parents to ask their own questions.
